Polyethylene Glycol (abbreviated as PEG), CAS No. 25322-68-3, is a series of polymers formed by the addition reaction of ethylene oxide and water. PEG-400 is the representative liquid grade in PEG series. It is colorless to pale yellow oily liquid with strong hydrophilicity, low volatility and low irritation. It can dissolve in water and many organic solvents. It provides good wetting, lubrication, solubilization and plasticizing effects.
