1. Bleaching Agent

In the process of textile printing and dyeing, bleaching agents are of vital importance. Environmentally friendly bleaching agents can be combined with various dyes such as acid dyes and reactive dyes to ensure the even distribution of the dyes on the fibers or fabrics, effectively avoiding color streaks and color spots. They can also act as diffusion agents, improving color fastness, removing surface dirt from the fabrics, and reducing static effects. For example, when dyeing cotton fabrics, the use of bleaching agents enables the dyes to be evenly attached, resulting in more uniform and vivid colors, and reducing the defective rate caused by uneven dyeing during the dyeing process, thereby improving production efficiency and product quality. For instance, the bleaching agents of the nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether series can effectively remove oligomers and oil stains in polyester and polyester blend fabrics during the boiling and rinsing process, laying a good foundation for subsequent dyeing procedures.

2. Emulsifier

Emulsifiers are widely used in the textile industry. Hydrophilic emulsifiers such as Pania P18 and Lingfei Emulsifier - 8.6 have excellent emulsifying, cleaning, wetting, dispersing, and anti-static properties. In the textile printing and dyeing industry, they can be used as bleaching agents, dispersants, wetting agents, and detergents; in the synthetic fiber industry, they are an important component of oil-forming monomers. For example, in the production of synthetic fibers, emulsifiers as oil-forming components can reduce fiber static electricity, improve the smoothness of fibers during processing, reduce friction between fibers, thereby reducing breakage phenomena and improving production efficiency and fiber quality. In fabric pretreatment, emulsifiers can effectively remove oils and impurities from the fabric, enhance the wetting property of the fabric, and facilitate subsequent dyeing and finishing processes.

3. Penetrant

Penetrants can reduce the surface tension of the fabric, allowing dye solutions, finishing agents, etc. to penetrate into the fabric interior more quickly and effectively. During dyeing, the use of penetrants can accelerate the penetration speed of dyes, making the dyeing more uniform and faster, especially for some tight fabrics or fibers with poor water absorption, the effect of penetrants is more significant. For example, in the dyeing of cotton and linen fabrics, penetrants can help dyes quickly penetrate into the fibers, improving the dyeing depth and uniformity, while reducing dyeing time and dye usage, and lowering production costs. Although the Schibelpol asphalt penetrant curing agent is mainly used for road maintenance, from a principle perspective, similar penetrant curing technology if applied to textile finishing, may to some extent improve the waterproof and wear-resistant properties of the fabric, but currently such products have not been widely used in the textile industry.

4. Defoamer

During textile printing and dyeing processes such as desizing, scouring, and dyeing, due to the use of large amounts of surfactants and mechanical stirring, foam is prone to form. These foams will affect the uniformity of dyeing, the vividness of color, and may cause color bleeding on the fabric. Defoamers reduce the surface tension of the liquid, making the foam membrane thinner and breaking, thereby eliminating the foam. In the dyeing process of reactive dyes, if there is a large amount of foam, using defoamers can ensure that the dye solution evenly covers the fabric, avoiding dyeing unevenness caused by foam obstruction, and ensuring the quality of printing and dyeing.

5. Softener

Softeners are used to improve the feel of the fabric, making it soft and smooth. In the post-finishing process of textiles, softeners are widely used. Cationic softeners such as quaternary ammonium salts can form a hydrophobic film on the fabric surface, reducing the friction coefficient between fibers, giving the fabric a soft and fluffy feel, and also having certain anti-static properties. In the post-treatment of natural fiber fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool, as well as synthetic fiber fabrics, the use of softeners can significantly improve the wearing comfort and product value of the fabric. For example, in the finishing of pure cotton shirt fabrics, using softeners can make the shirt feel soft and comfortable, enhancing the consumer's wearing experience.
