1.Penetrants

Adding penetrants to pesticide formulations can promote the better penetration of effective components of pesticides into plant leaves or the surface of pests, improving the efficacy of pesticides. Some surfactant-based penetrants can reduce the surface tension of pesticide solutions, making them easier to spread and penetrate on plant surfaces, enhancing the pest control effect of pesticides. For example, when controlling crop pests and diseases, using pesticides containing penetrants can make pesticides enter pests' bodies or the interior of plant leaves more quickly, improving the control efficiency and reducing pesticide usage, reducing environmental pollution.

2. Emulsifiers

In pesticide emulsions and other formulations, emulsifiers are used to uniformly disperse oil-soluble pesticide raw materials in water to form a stable emulsion. This emulsion makes it easier to dilute and spray pesticides, improving the effectiveness of pesticides. For example, in some organophosphorus pesticide emulsions, emulsifiers can make pesticide raw materials form a stable emulsion in water, allowing them to evenly cover the surface of crops during spraying, improving the adhesion and penetration of pesticides, and enhancing the pest control ability. At the same time, emulsifiers can also improve the storage stability of pesticides, preventing stratification and sedimentation.

3. Dispersants

In wettable powders, suspensions and other formulations of pesticides, dispersants are used to uniformly disperse pesticide particles in water, preventing particle agglomeration and ensuring the uniformity and stability of pesticides during use. In wettable powders, dispersants can make pesticide particles quickly disperse in water to form a uniform suspension, facilitating spraying. In suspensions, dispersants adsorb on the surface of pesticide particles, forming spatial obstruction and electrostatic repulsion, making particles uniformly dispersed in the system and preventing precipitation and stratification. For example, in pesticide suspensions, high molecular dispersants are used.
