Dimethyl Silicone Oil Emulsifier 2# is a high-performance non-ionic surfactant blended with multi-component non-ionic surfactants and additives. As a yellow liquid, it's easy to use and specialized in emulsifying low-to-medium viscosity dimethyl silicone oil into stable emulsions. With ≥99% active content, no foaming in metal casting, and good compatibility, it serves metal casting, cosmetics, industrial lubrication, coatings, and inks industries reliably.

Product Operate Guide

  1. Add measured emulsifier (40-50% of silicone oil dosage) and dimethyl silicone oil to the emulsification kettle per required solid content.

  2. Stir at low speed (60 r/min) for ~1 hour until translucent, then add 3-6% water and stir at 1500 r/min for 2 hours.

  3. Slowly add remaining deionized water, add preservatives, stir for another 30 minutes, and then discharge.


FAQ for Dimethyl Silicone Oil Emulsifier 2#

  1. Q: Why is the prepared emulsion not uniform?
    A: It may be due to insufficient low-speed stirring (needs 60 r/min for ~1 hour to reach translucency) or uneven high-speed stirring. Ensure following the two-stage stirring process strictly to achieve uniform emulsification.
  2. Q: Can it be used for high-viscosity dimethyl silicone oil?
    A: No. It is designed for low-to-medium viscosity dimethyl silicone oil. Using it for high-viscosity types may lead to poor emulsification, like layered or unstable emulsions.
  3. Q: What if foam appears during use in metal casting?
    A: This product itself doesn't foam when used as a release agent. Foam may come from impure water or other additives. Check water quality and avoid mixing with foaming ingredients.
  4. Q: Is it necessary to add preservatives?
    A: Yes. Preservatives prevent microbial growth in the emulsion, especially since water is added. Omitting them may cause the emulsion to deteriorate, affecting its performance and shelf life.
