Dispersant IW is a non-ionic compound made from fatty alcohol and ethylene oxide, appearing as a white flaky solid. It has a theoretical HLB value of 17-18, pH 6-7 (1% aqueous solution), cloud point 94-98℃ (5% NaCl solution), and moisture ≤2.0%.​
With good water solubility, it resists acid, alkali, and hard water, while offering excellent dispersibility and emulsifying properties. It is widely used as a dispersant in wool fabric one-bath dyeing, a precipitant in wool scouring/dyeing, and a raw material for industrial cleaning agents and glass fiber emulsifiers.

Product Operate Guide

  1. For wool fabric dyeing: Dissolve Dispersant IW in water (1-3% of dye weight) first, stir evenly. Add the solution to the dye bath before putting wool fabrics, then start dyeing at the recommended temperature.

  1. For industrial cleaning agents: Mix it with other surfactants (2-5% of total formula) during formulation, stir thoroughly to ensure uniform dispersion. Avoid contact with strong oxidants; store leftover product in a dry, ventilated place.

1、Q: Can Dispersant IW dissolve in cold water?

A: Yes, it is soluble in water. While cold water works, slightly warm water (30-40℃) can speed up dissolution and ensure more uniform mixing, which is better for subsequent use.

2、Q: Is it safe to use Dispersant IW with acidic dyes for wool?

A: Absolutely. It is acid-resistant and specially suitable for wool dyeing with acidic dyes. It helps disperse dyes evenly and prevents precipitation, improving dyeing quality.

3、Q: What if Dispersant IW gets damp during storage?

A: Dampness may affect its dispersibility. If only slightly damp, dry it in a well-ventilated place (avoid direct sunlight) and stir well before use. If severely caked, it’s recommended to replace it.
